The Barristers serve to acquaint and familiarize new lawyers with members of the Bar and the Bench, and to assist them in their new profession by broadening these relationships through a variety of dynamic programs and events. The Barristers equally serve the Los Angeles community through a wide variety of outreach programs. Barrister membership is open to all attorneys who are either 37 years of age or less or who have been in practice for 10 years or less. Board elections are held annually. The president appoints committee chairs, co-chairs and vice chairs. Committee membership is open to all Barristers. Many committee positions are open to law students as associate members.

Executive Committee / Bar Leadership Opportunities

The Trusts and Estates Section meets for lunch on the third Tuesday of each month (except in the summer) at Lawry’s for a stimulating presentation on a variety of trust and estate issues, including planning, drafting, taxes, administration and litigation. Sub-Committees on Elder Law issues and Legislation are also available and active.

The Executive Committee has a leadership ladder and requests a five year commitment from its members. The Committee meets approximately five times each year during lunch to plan programs and address other section needs.

You may reach the current section chair, Blake A. Rummel,
e-mail
: brummel@weinstocklaw.com

The Real Estate Law Section holds monthly luncheon meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month with a guest speaker discussing current topics of interest to attorneys
whose practice is devoted in whole or in part to real estate.

Membership in the Committee and participation in the Executive Committee is a
good networking activity and affords an opportunity to participate in committee
planning and leadership. Committee members are encouraged to participate in the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee of the Real Estate Law Section
meets at noon for lunch at the Beverly Hills Bar Association headquarters on the
1st Tuesday of each month.
