This section, the largest in the nation, focuses on business and legal issues pertinent to the entertainment industry, including film, television, and music law.  Because the section focuses on the various aspects of a particular industry, it overlaps with a number of other sections including litigation, business, and intellectual property.

CALENDAR OF EVENTS

The upcoming panels and other events were discussed.

JUNE 15, 2005
Matt Belloni reported on his progress. The topic for the luncheon will be idea submissions with John Schulman, Michael Plonsker, Lon Sobel and Lauren Littlefield confirmed as speakers. Matt reported that John Schulman may be out of town so his Deputy General Counsel, Zazi Pope, may take his place. The program flyer was and will be revised to reflect the changes in the program.

JULY 20, 2005
Joe Schleimer reported on the panel regarding enforcing participation agreements. Larry Stein, Marty Katz, Steve Sills, and Jim Perry have been confirmed as speakers. Joe will prepare the flyer for the program and send it out ASAP.

AUGUST 3, 2005
Correction: In last month's minutes, it was reported that the Grokster panel would be in July. The panel is set for August with the date now confirmed. Ken Freundlich and Susan Pollyea are working together to organize the panel. Cole Sternberg is also assisting Ken and Susan to possibly organize the event in the board room of his offices followed by a reception.

SEPTEMBER 21, 2005
Marissa Roman is working on finalizing the details for the September bond panel. Details to follow.

LOY
Marc Staenberg addressed ExCom regarding the Lawyer of the Year program. He thanked the committee for their hard work and commended our efforts in organizing such a successful event. He also pointed out that for next year's event, we should consider (a) the price point of the event, (b) think of additional fund raising opportunities, and (c) try to obtain a corporate sponsor to underwrite some of the costs of the event.

VINTAGE BOUQUET will be held on June 12, 2005 this year.

FUTURE EXCOM MEETINGS

The June meeting took place on June 1, 2005 (on the regular meeting date of the first Wednesday of the month). The July meeting will take place on June 6, 2005.
