Q: What is Automatic Membership Renewal?

A: Automatic Membership Renewal (AMR) is a member benefit of the Beverly Hills Bar Association that provides you with a highly secure, paper-free alternative way to pay your membership dues at intervals of your choosing. With AMR, your membership becomes continuous, freeing you from having to resubmit your payment information each year. And, you can conveniently pay your membership dues monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually at no additional cost.

Q: What are the benefits?

A: Save time. Go green. No more dues statements. No more payments to mail. No disruptions in your membership. Your dues will be charged automatically to your credit card at an interval of your choosing. An email confirmation will be sent to you afterwards. And, you can opt-out at any time.

Q: How does it work?

A: After a simple registration process, your dues will be charged automatically to your credit card at the interval of your choosing. An e-mail confirmation will be sent to you afterwards.

Note 1: BHBA members renewing early for the next membership year will not have their dues charged until October 1. BHBA members that are renewing after October 1 may have their payments consolidated and accelerated to catch up.

Note 2: New members joining after the beginning of the BHBA membership year may have their dues prorated and charged at an interval of their choosing for the remainder of the year and default to the full amount for the next membership year.

Q: Who can participate?

A: Any BHBA member with a valid credit card (sorry no checks accepted).

Q: Are there any additional fees for AMR?

A: No. AMR is a member benefit and is offered at no additional charge.

Q: How do I enroll in AMR?

A: The following AMR enrollment options are available:

1. Complete Part 4 of your Membership Renewal form.
2. Complete Part 4 of your
Membership Application.

3. Contact Member Services at 310.601.2422 or membership@bhba.org to enroll.

Q: When does AMR end?

A: AMR has no expiration date. With AMR, your membership is continuous and automatically renews after your payment is processed. If you want to opt-out of AMR, please contact Member Services by phone at (310) 601-BHBA or email at membership@bhba.org.

Q: How much will I be charged each interval?

A: Your periodic payment is calculated by taking your total membership dues and dividing them by 1 (for annual payments), 2 (for semi-annual payments), 4 (for quarterly payments), or 12 (for monthly payments). The result will then be charged to your credit card at the interval of your choosing.

Q: When will my first payment be?

A: Your first payment will be processed immediately after enrollment and continues on the 1st of the month based on the interval of your choosing.

Note:  If you enrollment date is within 10 days of the end of the month, your payments will begin on the 1st day of the subsequent month.

Q: Will I get an invoice for my dues?

A: No. AMR will automatically charge your credit card at the interval of your choosing and email you a confirmation. We will notify you of any membership dues changes in advance.

Q: What if I don’t have enough money in my account?

A: If we are not able to process your payment, we will notify you by telephone. If you are not able to resolve the problem and your payment is not processed within 2 weeks from the date of the scheduled charge, AMR and your membership will be suspended.

Q: How do I reconcile any problems I may have with AMR?

A: Please contact Member Services by phone at (310) 601-BHBA or email at membership@bhba.org.
