How Do I Become a Member of the BHBA Lawyer Referral and Information Service

 The LRIS is operated by the Bar Association in accordance with the relevant provisions of the state Bar Act and the LRIS Rules of the State Bar.  All members of the Association are encouraged to join the LRIS--which requires an annual membership fee and payment of a percentage of fees received -- and to become a member of at least one of the LRIS panels.  Membership in the LRIS not only generates additional business for you and additional revenue for the Association, it enhances public access to the legal system and tends to obviate the need for "independent paralegals" to fill the access gap.

Established in 1979, the Beverly Hills Bar Association Lawyer Referral & Information Service (LRIS) is one of the premier referral services in California. In pursuit of our goal to provide public access to quality legal information and resources, we have helped thousands of people and businesses find competent, ethical legal representation. We operate under the Rules and Regulations of the State Bar of California which are available here to view or download. Additionally, the Beverly Hills Bar Association Lawyer Referral & Information Service promulgates its own rules by which we function.

You are invited to become a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association Lawyer Referral & Information Service. All members must be free of any disciplinary action by the State Bar of California or any other licensing agency, must carry errors and omissions insurance, must meet experience requirements and must agree to submit any fee disputes with a referred client to BINDING fee arbitration. Join the many Los Angeles area practitioners who have helped make the Beverly Hills Bar Association and its Lawyer Referral & Information Service the prestigious world renowned organization that it is.
