Southern California Business Litigation Inn of Court
The Inn of Court is designed to promote collegiality and create a stronger community between litigators and the Court. Meeting once a month, the group presents MCLE Programs and issues regarding litigation for discussion in an informal and interactive setting.
The Inn is comprised of Lawyers and Judges who meet monthly (eight times a year) to both "break bread" and to hold innovative and interactive programs (e.g. skits, game shows, film clips) on topical litigation issues.
The SCBL Inn was formed in 1993 by, among others, leaders of the Beverly Hills Bar Association and was chartered in that year by the American Inns of Court, a national organization. As Tim Reuben remarked, "there has always been an informal sense of relationship between the Inn and the Beverly Hills Bar Association". The American Inns of Court was prompted by Chief Justice Warren Burger to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility and legal education for judges, lawyers academician and students of the law in ordered to perfect the quality and efficiency of justice in the United States.
SCBL Inn of Court Membership Dues for the remainder of the 2012 - 2013 year are prorated to $100 per member. Membership in the Beverly Hills Bar Association is required for Inn of Court membership (except for Sitting Bench Officers). Program registration fees are paid separately.
