2016 Copyright Year in Review: New Cases and Future Predictions in an Ever-Changing Legal Landscape

From questions about what copyright law protects to what constitutes infringement, court decisions dug into core copyright questions, and political and regulatory developments may change that landscape yet more. Join us as we welcome back our esteemed speaker, Professor Betsy Rosenblatt, director of Whittier Law School's Center for Intellectual Property Law, who will be discussing recent copyright law developments, cases, and themes, including Oracle v. Google; the multiple pre-1972 recordings cases involving the band The Turtles; Paramount Pictures v. Axanar Productions (the Star Trek fan film case); Disney v. VidAngel; CBS v. Comedy MX LLC (the "Andy Griffith Show" case); Star Athletica v. Varsity Brands (the cheerleader uniform case); regulatory developments regarding the Copyright Office, and more.
