Law and Justice Committee
Presents
What the Law Can, or Should, Do About Gun Violence
Guns don't kill people, people do - with guns, by the thousands every year. It seems as though mass shootings are happening more often: Newtown, San Bernardino, Orlando, Las Vegas, Sutherland Springs, Tehama. The right to bear arms is protected by the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, but does that mean the law can do nothing to protect against getting shot before it happens? In this program, experts on all sides of the issue will address these questions, with input from the audience. This program is intended not just for Bar members and guests, but for anyone who is concerned about issues of gun violence and civil liberties. Please join us for an evening that promises to educate, illuminate, and provoke conversation.
