2018 Copyright Year in Review: New Cases and Future Predictions in an Ever-Changing Legal Landscape

2018 was an eventful year in the world of copyright law, and 2019 is shaping up to be exciting as well. Congress passed new music-copyright laws. Works began entering the public domain for the first time in 20 years. International treaties and European Union law contain significant copyright developments. U.S. courts have decided major cases.

Join us as we welcome back our esteemed speaker, Professor Betsy Rosenblatt, now a visiting professor at UC Davis School of Law, who will be discussing recent copyright law developments, themes, and cases, including ABS Entertainment v. CBS Corp. (pre-1972 sound recordings), Goldman v. Breitbart News Network (in-line linking), Naruto v. Slater (the "monkey selfie" case), Skidmore/Wolfe v.
