Employment Law: Hot Topics, Fundamentals & Beyond

A program designed for those currently practicing in employment law as well as those looking to expand into this area of practice. This program will encompass an in-depth discussion of the basics and well beyond, including wage & hour, sexual harassment, discrimination (including transgender), hiring practices, managing leaves of absence, arbitration, PAGA and other hot topics.

Hot topics will include:

- Major legislative changes set forth in SB 1300 involving sexual harassment and settlement of sexual harassment cases, in addition to many other changes.

- Latest developments re Dynamex Operations West, Inc. v. Superior Court and it's wide ranging implications. This program will also provide information essential not only to those who represent employees and employers, but also to those who advise businesses generally, whether or not they practice employment law.

Speakers:
Eve H. Wagner of Sauer & Wagner LLP. Ms. Wagner practiced employment law over 30 years, and currently serves as a full-time mediator and arbitrator. Ms. Wagner is the past Chair of the Labor & Employment Section and current Chair of the Committee on Empowering Women of the BHBA.
Lynne S. Bassis of ADR Services, Inc. Ms. Bassis is a pioneer in the mediation profession. She has conducted over a thousand employment mediations and brings to the table a unique blend of wisdom and skill that only years of mediation experience can yield. Ms. Bassis is a Distinguished Fellow in the International Academy of Mediators and a member of the Executive Committee of the Labor & Employment Section of the BHBA.
