The SCR Executive Committee is delighted to announce the upcoming launch of the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s Mediator Referral Service Pilot Program (“MRS Program”).  Following the close of the Los Angeles Superior Court’s mediation program, the BHBA began receiving substantial and continuing requests for the establishment of a mediator referral service that would provide mediators to businesses and individuals in Beverly Hills and the surrounding communities.  SCR has been working tirelessly with BHBA staff members to put together a mediation referral program that provides qualified mediators from a broad array of legal backgrounds to serve the needs of our community neighbors.  Stay tuned for the MRS Program’s official launch in the coming weeks!

SCR’s recent event, “The Impact of Culture on Communication, Negotiation and Mediation”, was a huge success! Experienced mediators Mark Ameli, Eric Van Ginkel and Steve Wawra explained how differences in cultures complicate communications and provided us with best strategies for successful negotiation.  Thank you to Mark, Eric and Steve for your informative and engaging program!

In anticipation of incoming amendments to the laws relating to mediation confidentiality, SCR is excited to present its next program on February 25th entitled “Is this the End of Mediation Confidentiality in California: A Primer and Town Hall Meeting on how Proposed Reform to the Evidence Code will Affect Litigators, ADR Professionals and their Clients”.  Join our panel of experts in a discussion and debate about how the proposed legal reform will change the nature of mediation communications and alter the culture of mediation practice in California.
