The Beverly Hills Bar Association Lawyer Referral & Information Service was formed in 1976 as a service to the public to provide referrals to competent and ethical legal representation. The service operates as a private non-profit corporation.
Our major concern is to provide individuals and businesses with an experienced attorney ready, willing and able to provide quality legal services at a fair price. Our commitment to quality service is demonstrated by our Certification as a lawyer referral service by the State Bar of California which certifies only those referral services that meet or exceed the standards approved by the Supreme Court of California.
The Beverly Hills Bar Association provides Mandatory Fee Arbitration (MFA) services to resolve fee disputes between lawyers and their clients. This confidential forum is conducted under the auspices of the State Bar of California, and is an informal, lower cost option to resolving fee disputes through the court system.
Unlike other programs, our fee arbitration program is highly service-oriented, efficient, and fast. With a dedicated administrative staff and decades of arbitration management experience, we’re able to expedite this complex process without compromising neutrality or quality.
Experienced, impartial arbitrators are appointed from the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s membership of attorneys. Depending on the amount of the fee dispute, the BHBA will appoint a single arbitrator or a panel of three arbitrators to adjudicate and rule on the dispute.
Our program, which has a no-limit threshold for accepting non-binding arbitration, is governed by B&P Code Section 6200-6206, and is open to any client or attorney in Los Angeles County.
The BHBA Approved Mediator Panel is built on three standards: Quality: We offer a singular class of mediators who have undergone a thorough vetting process. They are independent mediators with specific mediation training, a wide range of expertise and experience and established reputations for quality service and results. Affordability: Our mediators have agreed to a capped fee not to exceed $400 per hour. For disputes in which the amount in controversy is less than $25,000, parties will receive two free hours, and Community: Our focus is providing convenient service to our community; our mediators are local.
Personnel Referral Service (PRS) is a personnel placement service operating for members of the Association.
PRS offers qualified pre-screened temporary and permanent legal secretaries, general office, and law office receptionists to BHBA members at below-market fees.
Whether you're looking for permanent or temporary personnel, the Beverly Hills Bar Association Personnel Referral Service can save you money over other employment agencies.
